Shona is a local african language spoken in Zimbabwe (pronounced with a short 'o' - I think the way you would pronounce Shona is with the long 'o' sound? Is it Scottish?
It's a nice name, but because of it's association with an african language I wouldn't use it for that reason....(personal preference and all that)....

It's not one I would pick myself, but that's not to say I don't like it. I think it's quite a pretty name but as I believe it's quite popular these days do check there aren't going to be hundreds of them in her year at school or it'll sound common. I was one of four Sarahs in my class and it was confusing to say the least!
If you have celtic/gaelic heritage it will have more meaning, too.
Apparently the name Shona is taken from the female form of John, meaning "God gave".
Hope that's some help!

Not at all. For one, whats the middle and last name? Two, people with intentionally misspelled names are a sign that mom and dad are either not too smart, or think theyre REAL clever. Its suposed to be Shawna, which is much better, but the way you spelled it, looks like a strippers name.
No, dont use it. Its really bad.

it's a good decent name that isn't made up.
children these days have names that have no meanings to them and i think that affects them in some way like having a name that sounds like a microwave. people pre-judge them and think that they are going to behave a certain way or not be educated because of a name that has far to many syllable's in it!
