A few years ago when I was still in contact with friends who liked Slipknot, they were already saying they were going to quit.
I see it this way:
1. Either it's a publicity gimmick to get better record sales-- "Oh, it's their last album/tour, we better not miss out on it!"
2. Or the band is on really rocky grounds--in which case they problably might not last much longer, if they haven't broken up already.
In either case, I can't see what's the point of listening to them, or putting up with that kind of publicity crap. Ick.

My brother, being the Slipknot fan of our family, has exposed to me that, indeed, they have broken up.
