Seriously! Billions of Dollars are going after this Project. If they were to suddenly "find a cure" the money would stop rolling in. 20 years! I saw 20/20 special edition on how the world might end. #3 was Virus attack. They estimated it would take around 6 months to find a vaccine. 6 months? And for this, it's been 20 years. what's your opinion?

Just because a cure can be found for one disease doesn't mean that a cure can be found for another.
There are billions to be made by the first company to discover a cure.
Think of the common cold - there is no cure for that and it's been around a lot longer than AIDS. If a cure was found for the common cold the company that discovered it would instantly wipe all other cold remedies off the shelves and become one of the richest companies on the planet. The same goes for AIDS - all the anti-retroviral drugs designed to slow down the progress or halt the spread of AIDS would be instantly replaced by the new "wonder cure". No company in their right mind would withhold such a treatment - there is far too much money to be made, not to mention Nobel Prizes, fame, influence, etc. etc.
The simple truth is that AIDS is a very difficult virus to pin down because it has a number of mechanisms which make most types of treatment ineffective (again, much like the common cold). Other viral diseases, such as influenza, are *relatively* easy to deal with but even here we're faced with the prospect of millions of deaths worldwide from bird flu, even with all the prior warning and technology waiting on standby to synthesise the antidote.
Any conspiracy theory based on the idea that a multi-national drugs company is going to deliberately NOT make money by keeping quiet about a breakthrough discovery is a complete non-starter.

i've heard that they cure aids in the forests of central africa. and i was also told that a couple people have been murdered when they got too close to discovering the cure. [still dunno the rationale behind such a claim]. anyway. i think there IS a cure for aids. whereto get it, there's the question!
