I need to write an essay about the areas of potential conflict between marketing, design and manufacturing departments of a company during product development. Where can I find information on this, for example I need to discuss the ways in which conflicts can be resolved? I am confused and not sure where to begin with this one! Thanks for any help

Before you out to interview experts on those fields , it is better for you to buy a book on technical writings available on national book store wherein you can be best guided to prepare and arrange your essay.

The Marketing Department, Design Department and Manufacturing department are always fighting about something.

The marketing folk make promises to customers that are difficult for the design folk to create and the manufacturing department to make.

Marketing folks have less restrictions on what they say and do.

The Design Department have patent infringement laws, government regulations to strictly follow, and product liability concerns.

Marketing people must be creative to dream up a catchy commercial advertisements to attract customers. If they do not, it does not matter how wonderful the product, no one will know about it.

Manufacturing has the worse job, they have to work within impossible budgets concerns, time and a lazy work force to deal with.

Does this help, hope so.

start by defining the goals of the respective departments, in detail, at the outset of the product development. By the the time you have done this, and worn the three separate hats, it will become evident where many of the potential conflicts will arise. Draw a flow chart for each of the processes and highlight where they should meet to check they are in sync....this 'mind map'should also help
