John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Romans 3:23 - for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.
Romans 6:23 - The penalty for our sin is death.
Romans 5:8 - But God demonstrates his own love or us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 10:9-10 - That if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.
Scripture from NIV translation.
In addition - a good study in our response to this is Romans 8:1-17.
Hope this answers your question and know this is a free gift from God for those that will accept it.
There is a BIG difference in head knowedge vs. heart knowledge.
If I can help further, please email me.

My friend.... I believe what you are looking for is this.........
Acts 4:11-13
King James Version (KJV)
11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

Romans 3:23
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Romans 6:23
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 5:8
8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 10:9-11
9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”
Ephesians 2:8
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God

One should believe and perhaps pray like this: "Lord Jesus, I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and rose again from the dead. I now recieve You as my Savior. I don't want to be lost. I want to go to heaven. Save me!"
Jesus promised, "The one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out" (John 6:37).

Ask Jesus wholeheartedly to come into your heart and confess you're a sinner to him and then ask Him to forgive you.
