A "kale-orev", raven-scarer. Sharp metal spikes with sharp points to prevent birds from sitting on the roof.

That kind of thing was implemented by Abraham, who tested God in all kinds of inane ways. Judaism existed pre-Abraham and would not put up spikes on the roof to keep away birds. A bucket of water (or rain) cleans up bird poop quite nicely from the roof of any temple

I believe that their were "spikes" so to speak that did not allow birds to land on top of the Temple.
