I'm sorry if you've lost your friend. It's unforgivable but you have to be careful on internet sites. If you give too much information you are leaving yourself vulnerable to all the lunatics and weirdos out there.
Go to the police and tell them the avator this person uses and show them the messages this person sent your friend.
They will look after things.

I am sooo very sorry about your friend. I wish I could bring them back for you. I am sure it feels horrible because you felt that yahoo was going to help you out and you feel they have let your friend down. I feel very unsettled and awful about this horrible thing that has happened to your friend. Chat rooms are not a safe place to be anymore. There needs to be monitors in every room making sure that someone is there to answer questions and to help people in situatiions like that. Start a petition directed towards yahoo to make it a safer place to enjoy and be. I believe if this event happened and there were monitors in the rooms that he was in...he could have reported it immediately..and it could have been taken care of.
Think about the petition and other things you can do. I do agree..yahoo needs to be safer. Internet crime and internet stalkers have really become a huge problem. Again I am so sorry this happened. I would gladly do what I could to help you along with a petition if you decide you want to do something like this.

Um, to tell Yahoo about death threats is kind of a lame place to go as a first resort. I'm thinking the police should have been the first contact made. Yahoo (or any other chat line for that matter) can only do so much and being that they aren't cops or investigators... well... um...
I have gotten death threats and while the chat service couldn't do much about it when I asked them... once the cops got involved, the rescources unavailable to help me where there to help them...

I'm sorry about your friend... and I'm earnestly hoping that when he got the threats, yahoo was not the only place you reported them to...

I appreciate Yahoo solutions, yet I have a lot of pals that I deglect, so i experience to blame placing out new friendships over the internet when I must be calling and/or vacationing the pals I have already.

I know how you feel but Yahoo is in a huge transition right now and losing money...I guess business goes before people's complaints
