When I go swimming with goggles, I end up with bright red lines around my eye sockets where they've been. While these go away after 10 mins, I'm also left with my (normally purple) bags under my eyes going bright red. And they stay that way for quite a while, which is embarrasing since I swim before work. Any ideas how to make them go back to normal faster ? (I have of course also tried loosening the goggles ;)

Thanks

you have a problem with your lymph becoming congested/collecting under the eye area. You could go to a properly qualified MLD therapist (go to - www.mlduk.org.uk or - www.vodderschool.com) for 1 treatment and ask them to teach you how to do a modified version on your face, which will help it go back to normal and will be healthier, to boot!

you may also have congestion in the neck area, which is why this takes time to go. So maybe having a course of body/neck treatments will help clear everything and stop it being such a problem in future. Do you ever suffer from upper respiratory tract problems? (ears, nose throat) Or do you have a known problem with your lymphatics perhaps (resulting in oedema in other parts of your body)?

Humm, Don't know what you can do about the bas and red spots. The only thing I can recommend is trying a different set of goggles. Have you tried the Aqua spheres? I was using them for a while but just couldn't get them to fit right, Other folks use them and love 'em. The aqua sphere's have a bigger seal and are a much larger goggle. Here's the link http://www.aquasphereusa.com/

I have consistently opened my eyes below water even if diving into the water can NOT dive into any water with eyes closed...to scared of what I would hit... plus I love watching round below the water I simplest use goggles whilst going approach deep or desire to snorkel and seem round smile well success

i also have this same problem and i use zinc oxide on it when i get out of the shower after swimming. I just put it on and it covers it up as well as makes the purple not show up.

Carry some good skin care lotion with you and try rubbing it around the affected areas and see if that helps.
