No.
However, I'm a very direct, expressive, no-nonsense person and the Taiwanese/ Chinese are very indirect, don't express their true emotions and loves nonsense.
I've also been deceived by a few Taiwanese employers. To their credit, I must say that some are very helpful.
The mountains are beautiful. The cities are ugly.
The food is horrible and often stinks. I love bread, and decent tasting bread is hard to find.
Chinese is very hard to learn.
Too many people.
Very convenient environment, though. (convenience shops; public transport)
I've been here 3 years so far, but miss my home country very much.

Being a foreigner in Taiwan, I have always been treated nicely by theTaiwanese ever since I arrived here in 1984, I thought I'd be here for a few years but now 22 years down the road, I am still very happy here and have no intention of leaving.

I have to say, I've become very localised now and feel at home here.
I think you might need to get out and make friends both foreign and local. Go out to places like Ximenting during the Weekend Afternoons and evenings instead of staying indoors alone, it is a happening area.

I am quite happy. I have a job that I love here, many friends both western and Taiwanese, am treated well by almost everyone I meet, and don't have to deal with societal pressures and norms from back home.

Get out and meet people. The Taiwanese are incredibly receptive to outsiders. Do a language exchange with a local; it will teach you a lot about the culture plus you'll probably make a good friend in the process.
