Isn't charity supposed to begin at home? And does anyone realize how many American children need to be adopted? Shouldn't fellow Americans take care of them first?

I will say it again: If we pour endless amounts of treasure on the homeless and hungry of other nations, why don't we help them here? And why aren't people in other countries held to the same high standards you're imposing on homeless people in America, many of whom are miltary veterans who have been mentally and physically damaged by warfare during Republican administrations?

Yes some of the homeless do choose to be homeless, but there are families with children that are homeless, they do not choose to do so, but there is not enough support to assist these people and the support that is available has so much paperwork and red tape that our country does not put on the people that they help outside of our country they only make it hard to get the much needed help here. And if you do not have a physical address you will not get the help, and the shelters are full to complicity.

its my own fault im right here, so dont help!!!! all of us has the call of being homeless or not, honest sufficient no job, on drugs bla bla bla. yet thats why we've social secure practices i comprehend that it those situations they do pay lease (if u have not any job to pay it urself) if ur not fortunate enuf to have been provided a house with the help of the council there is homeless instruments, hostels or regardless of they r stated as. They get chucked out for undesirable behaviour, not following their regulations then they only have been given themselfes in charge!!

The homeless will be around until the end of time, they have been around for centuries, problem is you cant help those who dont want it.Many of the homeless dont want to live in shelters, they go to shelters for food and warmth and medical help.No matter how much money you pour into the homeless, they will always be around.

Actually we send very little to other countries for foreign aid. It's not foreign aid that's keeping Americans homeless. It's basically wages that do not cover the costs of housing. We need to pass not just minimum wage bills but living wage bills. We need to stop allowing developers to tear down affordable housing to build luxury condo's. We need decent and adequate services to deal with mental illness and substance abuse. And we need to deal with domestic violence seriously (one of the leading causes of homelessness for women). To do so, we don't need to attack foreign aid. We need to look at the military budget and all the tax cuts that went to the upper 5% of the population.

Because these homeless people have made choices in their lives that have resulted in their current situation. No need to blame anyone else. They have had the same opportunities as everyone else.

Where in the hell does personal responsibility come into play?
Well we can start redistributing the wealth, that way the "rich" can pay the majority of the taxes and pay for the programs for bums and illegitimate children. Oh thats right, they already have these programs!

I work for a county government agency and most of these homeless live there because they don't want any responsibility... it's easier and also most are drunks or druggies.

Many homeless people choose to be homeless. People do try to help ... there are rescue missions and other programs to help them.

Actually America ranks last or second last (depending on methodology used) out of all the developed countries in terms of how much aid it gives in relative terms. also much of its aid is aimed at enriching american companies (often at the expense of developing country governments).
Why is it that Americans are always b itching about how much they are helping everybody when they are not. Are you too ignorant to realise this?

Believe me when I say that there is no Country that does anything for FREE, there is always a hidden motive or agenda. You can't believe everything you see or hear on TV.
