NO.
1 - America contributes more to world charity than any other nation in the world.
2 - America has given more money to rebuilding war-ridden countries than any other nation in the world.
3 - American contributes more to technology (like cures and medical diagnostic equipment, for example) than any other nation in the world.
4 - American military involvement has freed nations and saved many lives from further destruction from violent fascist regimes.
5 - America is more responsible than any other nation in the world for working to establish peace-KEEPING entities such as NATO and the U.N. (Do you know how much American taxpayer money pays for the U.N to keep running? Without us, there IS no U.N.)
I could go on. All these things have worked against poverty and therefore the political unrest that interferes with peace... Until the advent in the past 3 decades or so of the rise of militant Islam. That is the biggest threat to world peace.
Someone here had the naive idea that every time the U.S. gets involved it is out of its own interests. Well, DUH. What country DOESN'T do that? It is actually the only logical way to run a country. If for example our leaders got involved in something just because they felt sorry for someone else....there would be a huge public uproar! In most cases, getting involved in some cause requires public approval through the votes of their congressional representatives. If something isn't in it for them, the public usually won't approve. That is how every country on earth works. Always has, always will. To single out the U.S. as somehow the only one who works for its own interests (as if that is a BAD thing) is just ignorance.
Evidence for this dynamic, is that the fact that the Iraqi people were living in absolute HORROR under Saddam isn't enough for some people to justify going into Iraq. (Don't buy into the idea that they are worse off now, it's propoganda. The documented facts and statistics say absolutely otherwise, as does the Iraqi government, and as do most of the Iraqi people themselves.)
World politics are far more complicated than most people can comprehend. Being the world ecomomic and military power, means that the U.S. is obligated to give more resources - militarily and economically - than other nations - - - and the world community demands that of the U.S. as it has for the last century. If we refused to get involved, other nations would be furious with us, and furthermore many Americans think that to cocoon ourselves and refuse to get involved - giving our resources - is immoral.
Americans who are unable to remember or understand WWII and other past wars, think that we can magically disinvolve ourselves with world politics, and all will be well. They need to educate themselves about the realities of the things that allow them to live the way they do, and have the material, educational, and political advantages that they do. Fighting to make those things possible for other people in the world, is never ever wrong.

nope. I disagree. You'd have germany ruling most of the world if not for us. No jews. There isn't a country that doesn't deserve to be gone. We need to clean up the messes the League of Nations and the UN created some of the geopolitical issues in the Middle East and elsewhere.
Ask yourself. Would the world be a better place without you?

Americas contribution to world peace is negligable. America will not intervene unless there is direct or indirect profit to be made by either the government or American business. Cynical but true.
To quote Oscar Wilde. " Someone who knows the price of everything and the value of nothing "
The someone in this case being American society.

No, there will still be war. War goes on in Africa and the Middle East constantly even without the help of America.

No, because the terrorists don't want peace. Read what the terrorist leaders are saying. The terrorists are much more dangerous than the Nazis.
