Sometimes, as intelligent as we'd like to think we are, it's extremely difficult to pass up a golden opportunity to be rude without consequences, especially when someone leaves themself so open to rudeness by their blazing stupidity. However, last night, I saw a question that was virtually irresistable. It was sooooo ripe for rudeness. But, when I read the "details" of the question, it became very obvious how sincere the guy was. He was also very depressed and humble. It's just that his "english" wasn't allowing him to phrase the question - let's just say - in a grammatically correct manner. I re-read his question and realized he was probably new to this country and that he was genuinely "bummed out". I felt like a schmuck. So, I did not type in my rude response, (which would have been hilarious, by the way) but instead, I offered a little encouragement. Hopefully, it helped. I can't answer for other people, personally I'm usually only rude to "ignorant" and mean people. It doesn't make it right but, it sure is fun sometimes. Take it easy.

The truth is that they are afraid. Rude behavior comes from earlier experiences that have hurt the individual so they develop "defensive" behaviors in order to protect themselves from being hurt again. This can maifest itself in high control or low openess and low inclusion behavior.

An example is making you look bad... so they look good. The logic seems silly but a lot of people do this example of high control behavior.

The goal is for you to realize rude comments really say very little about you, but say volumes about the speaker.

In a competitive world, everyone is trying to outdo each other. When the score of an individual keeps dropping to the negative side, anger takes over. And they find this website a very convenient way to disperse their anger because you cannot reply back to them. Only vote them "thumbs down". So you become the perfect 'scapegoat' for receiving their anger successfully.

Yahoo should try making changes to their system. They need to catch up with the times.

When I first started doing this I really did intend to give honest and truthful answers, but after a while, there where so many questions that are so stupid I just have to dump on them.
Some are so bad I don't even care if I hurt their feeling, they need to be slapped.

U mean in Yahoo answers right?? Could be just to earn points. They cant answer the question and just write whatever they want. Or maybe they think it makes them smarter than others, but i dont feel the same way.

because they are small minded people with no regards to any body elses feelings. However, some questions are a bit pointless and stupid and deserve a witty / sarcastic answer, but theres still no need to be rude or insulting . . .you idiot!!

sometimes it depends on the questions you get. if they are rude, they deserve to be equally treated that way. and some people are just psychotic, bored and have nothing else to do and shouldnt even be bothered with.

Because they are jerks who have many insecurities about themselvs and boost their ego by making other people feel like idiots to hide the fact that they are one.
