Very new to this downloading thing and this is the first film I have done.

Any help appreciated. Thanks V much.

It seems u dont have a proper video codec to play the video so u can download the Classic Video Player which as all the codec builtin and play the video. And you use Nero Burning to burn the DVD so it automatically convert to DVD format.

One problem with WMP is sometimes the codec you need to play AVi files is not available. An easy way to solve this is to install the XP codec pack from free-codecs.com http://www.free-codecs.com/download/XP_Codec_Pack.htm

A good site for finding out about video is http://www.videohelp.com. Some good software for converting video to DVD is Nerovision, which is quite simple and convertXtoDVD by VSO http://www.vso-software.fr/

I can recommend www.winavi.com. They have a free 30 day trial. It will convert your files to DVD format and then ideally burn them on Nero 7 or something similar. I would go as far to say its idiot proof. I know cos i`ve just done it.

You first need to tell us what format the video is in. At the very least give us the extension. Is the file an AVI?, MP4?, MPG?, etc. Only with that can we help you help yourself.

most avi files will require the following 3.

dvix from http://www.divx.com/divx/windows/download/
xvid codec from http://downloads.xvid.org/downloads/xvidcore-1.1.2.zip
and ac3 filer for sound from http://sourceforge.net/project/downloading.php?group_id=66022&use_mirror=switch&filename=ac3filter_1_11.exe&81832126
