Where is all of this going to stop? Is the American Constitution only a piece of paper as that man in the White House seems to think? Will the chip be a provision of the next Patriot Act?

I'll give you one example: As of December 31, 2007 this requirement will be extended to all land-based border crossings as well. Right now, I can drive from Detroit to Windsor in Canada without a passport, and be able to re-enter the United States. As of December 31, 2007 I will need a passport to make the same trip. This will also apply to Mexico and most Carribean nations where passports have not been needed. If you don't believe me, google NEW RULES FOR U.S. PASSPORTS.

Agree to it ?? Do you actually believe there will be a choice ??
Think long and hard here, dude ----the things that are going down in the name of security now are things that ten years ago people would have had frothing public fits over !! We are losing our freedoms by the hour in the name of security !! Within the next ten to twelve years (absolutely no more) we will be among some of the SAFEST --- UNFREE people to have ever existed in the history of the world !!!!

I think the chip implant is a great idea- this will allow for women to keep track of their husbands like GPS without having to go to a spy store! HAHA kidding of course! Anyway, I dont think there will be a chip implanted into humans, unless it is done without our knowledge when we are born. The whole passport thing has been an ongoing thing for several years now- they have been talking about putting the law into effect and they have actually pushed the date back like 2 or 3 times already- so people that plan on travelling in or out of the USA should have known this way in advance. There are continual changes in this country and Americans should just get used to them- unfortunately some of them inconvenience us, but a lot of it has to do with security and safety of the country.

I'm not American but I think the same question could be asked in the UK .
Passports are a good thing so long as its only for foreign travel.
I would NEVER agree to a chip implant, although the present administration might be quite benign who knows what will happen in the next , and we do know that the security agencies have their own agenda , and just what information would be on the chip, and with technology advancing at the rate it is , would there be some form of coercion option built into the chip .
The spooks would love that .

When have we NOT needed a passport to travel to mexico?
What does the Patriot Act have to do with this?
The Patriot Act has nothing to do with traveling provisions. It has everything to do with homeland security, wiretaps, and other surveillance aspects. Before complaining, read the thing.
Also, chips are not next. They are already implementing fingerprints along with passports, so fingerprints and maybe eye scans will be next.
