When a girl is 3, this is the perfect time for a first Barbie. It's a definite must!

I think $100 is fine for christmas.... Yes, you will probably not get him everything that he wants or that you would like to get him but i think in the long rum it does not matter. Growing up i had christmas' that i would love to re live and i didn't get more than a doll wrapped in a news paper. Christmas is not about getting gifts and that is it.... You need to show him that is it a lot more than that. Also, at the age of three they will out grow toys and clothes both fast so what is the point in getting something that cost $160.... Our son will be 1 this year and i will be spending $150 max on everything all together. You don't need to spend gobs of money to achieve the goal. We live on 1 income too and that is just what you have to do sometimes. They will have a birthday coming around the corner too so.... Good luck!

Books! Kids can never have too many books! A 3-year old would love a nice colorful book, such as "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie", or "If You Give a Moose a Muffin". Also, "The Hungry Caterpillar" is one you can usually find with a fuzzy little caterpillar stuffed toy to go with the book. The Angelina Ballerina series are also very good, and often come with a little Angelina doll (she's a mouse). So go to a great bookstore and browse the kids' section. Then, the best present of all will be when you sit down and read the book to her!

Ask the child who is her favorite character, My Daughter is 3 and she loves Dora so I know a Dora that will make her happy. For example a Dora DVD, Dora doll, Dora;s back pack there are so many different things. Finding out who she likes will help you a lot and mean so much. Good Luck

Get them a little people play house or something because it is educational and it will keep them entertained for hours or get her a baby doll that isn't as educational but it does keep her entertained.... but nothing small if she is 3 or so then they will lose/ try to eat it

The Tickle Me Elmo TMX, they are fun for kids and adults so it won't annoy the parents as much as some other toys will :)

My three year old is absolutely obsessed with dress up! You can get dress-up kits quite cheap at Target, BJs, Costco, etc. My daughter would love you forever!!!
