That's mainly a matter of personal preference, but traditionally most families put up their Christmas tree during Thanksgiving weekend and take it down at or around New Year's. If there is a child's birthday between Thanksgiving and Christmas, though, many families will wait until after the child's birthday.

I don't believe there is any rule as far as that goes. Some families start a tradition as early as Thanksgiving to put up their trees, while others do it when they have time. I put mine up when I 'feel' like it, afterall, it's "my tree"...

12 days before Christmas Day & you take them down 12 days after. However, I always put mine up on the 1st December because I absolutley love Christmas, it's magical !!
