I can't help but to notice that the last 4 or 5 new Starbucks in my area also have a brand new Quizno's opening in the same center.

I mean are they owned by the same people, or do they have the same company planning their growth... Has anyone else noticed this trend in any other city? I'm in Reno, NV

No they are not related, but in alot of cases with business you will find that business's will kind of latch on to each other. Starbucks typically likes to have places to eat at around them. I used to work at a Starbucks that had a Subway and a hamburger joint next to it. It was like clockwork, people would go get their sub at Subway and then walk straight over and get their coffee at Starbucks. Goes hand in hand.

You have to remember that they are both desirable store's to have in your shopping center. I do not know if the are considered anchor stores or not. But they both draw large numbers of people to them every day. And I suppose it would be possible for 1 person to own both franchises and thus could put both stores in the same strip mall.

I have noticed this also, plus Panda Express. I honestly don't think so, I just think that they are the most popular franchises or operations right now so they have more money to be in more places.
