Nausea and vomiting of pregnancy (NVP), commonly called morning sickness, affects from 50 to 80% of pregnant women. Women have been suffering for centuries, but we still don't understand the exact mechanisms or causes. NVP is probably due to a number of factors (a combination of physiologic changes, higher levels of hormones, higher sensitivity to odours, etc.).Usually develops between the 4th and 6th week of pregnancy. In half of the cases it ends by the 14th to 16th week of pregnancy.
Here are tips to help relieve your symptoms:
Eat frequent small meals every 2 or 3 hours.
Avoid strong odours.
Stand up slowly and do not lie down immediately after eating.
Hope this information would help you.

Hi! Im on my 7th week as well. Hope you're regularly visiting your doctor as she might really give great advice when it comes to nutrition especially now I know that you're also kinda choosy with the food you eat.
Well, I've started throwing up food Im eating a week ago and since I know there's two of us who's in need of the nutrition, I made sure I have taken something in aside from the food I vomit. It really helps when you think that the little one inside you really depends on you.. You'll have that urge to be more responsible... you'll end up eating the proper foods you never thought you're likely to eat when you're not pregnant.
Ive read online a few woman experiences feeling better as their second trimester starts. Just make sure you're getting the proper nutrition for you and your baby. Take care! God bless you!!!

I wouldnt worry, most of the time things will pick up in the second trimester (13 weeks and on). Your appetite should get better and you should start feeling better too, If you have severe morning sickness like I did then see your doc about it. Congrats and I hope it starts perking up for you.

awake? well i dont know that being pregnant will make you feel awake, usually just the opposite but not till the last 3 mo or so, the first three months you usually throw up all the time, second three you eat everything but your hat, last three you are tired, sore and pee all the time.
