Like they did in the 80's. Those where the days. I bet hardly anyone plays the sax anymore because of it lol.

Yeah, I remember. I wish they would !

You have to turn to recent jazz or blues albums to hear those great sax solos again (ie. You could also try Big Voodoo Daddy and Dave Matthews). Like drum solos of the 70's, sax solos of the 80's seemed to have been phased out, for more glitter, lightweight, quick selling songs.

Too bad because those sax solos gave the songs (by Bruce Springsteen, Gerry Rafferty, Pink Floyd, Foreigner, George Thorogood, Chicago, Earth Wind & Fire, etc) such depth and meaning.

Oh, sorry i didn't notice your absence since this is my first time on in three weeks. But yes i did miss you lol, and i don't know what's been going on here. As for the 90's song never been the biggest Alice Cooper fan i give him credit for making music this long and making cool shows and stuff, but school's out and billion dollar babies and those songs bother me "Lost In America" is definetly my favorite song by him though, considering that i don't like him very much, Sorry. Bq2: Well it's my birthday, i have a party tonight, 6 or 7 of my friends are going to come down and hang out and i did not see American Idol. Bq3: No I'll star it

It probably has to do with the fact that today's music employs a lot of electronic effects, which fulfill the need for sound diversity in songs. It is much easier to come up with something on a synth keyboard or a computer, than to actually find someone who can play the sax.

"Baker street" has a really cool sax hook ....

Because music changes. Back in the 50s and early 60s you had saxophone, then it went away until the 80s. It'll come back again eventually.

Because most songs that are popular these days don't use the saxophone - or any acoustic instrument - at all!

Because saxophone is the worst instrument ever created.
