A close friend is something that is earned over time. You can trust them and they can trust you. It needs to be two sided. There isn't a time table or anything just that thought of when something happens that you want to share that person comes to mind.

I dont know how to answer this question because its a little tricky. I personally dont believe in close friends because everybody goes through changes in their life, therefore your friends change along with that. I use to have "close friends" but not anymore. I don't try to put time into that because in the end they forget about you and become selfish. I'm lucky to have my sisters to talk to and to me thats better than having some fake friends.

There is no time frame for accepting a person as a close friend.
Those bonding will tell when you can say that a person is your
close friend.

It would have to be someone that I have shared interests with so that our conversations will be interesting to us both. Trust that anything that I might share would be held in confidence if & when appropriate, and honesty because... well, where is trust without honesty ? It helps if she's really cute & likes to talk for hours every day. =o)

it all varies. i try not to put such labels on relationships with my friends because it only adds to expectations and pressure on the relationship.

it all depends upon the level of trust you have in a person as to the level of information you can trust them with.... if that helps you any!

I don't have a set criteria, it's more of a feeling. It grows.
