On the applications I have filled out it was optional to answer. I always skipped that and the gender. I have been turned down for jobs based on being female that I could have done if I were a male.

I think no need for race distinction. It must be thecapability of the employee to do the task. Different people can work 2gether if they will respect one another specially their culture and belief. Hence they unite for one vision and goal. To earn, to live and to be worthy.

I'm Australian and what you are describing in Australia would be unConstitutional. Asking for 'race' on employment applications? You're kidding me, right?

RACE DISTINCTION came into consideration, when our DEAR DR.CHARLES DARWIN said we have evolved from APES now that this theory has failed miserably, and education department of America submitted APOLOGY to Congress for PRINTING, PUBLISHING AND TEACHING this theory without substantial proof. EVOLUTION FROM APES HAS FAILED.
So after mapping of DNA race distinction does not hold any meaning, it is just a virus for IDLE brains to play with

I may be wrong but I believe it's illegal to ask that on an application (the original you fill out pre-interview etc).
