Ijichi Kiyoshi of Asian Kung -Fu Generation. He's a crazy drummer with great syncopation, and gives each song a lot of spirit. I say this because I'm a drummer and he is my inspiration to play better. Just try following along on the set with one of the faster songs like Blue Train.
Arguably, the drummer from Blink 182 is also the best, but he just broke one of his arms and has to play one-handed. That's what I call hardcore :D

Carmine Appice was a founding member of one of the first heavy rock bands,Vanilla Fudge. He was rocking before John Bonham or anyone else and has been and continues to be a huge influence in the world of drumming. A number of famous artists have cited his influence,including Alex and Eddie Van Halen. He played with Ozzy,Rod Stewart ,and even wrote "Do You think I'm sexy". Almost 40 yrs and still going strong,my vote for number one.
