Well, let's just suppose, the US or UN obliterated Isreal, we can assume everyone would have tea and cookies, smile nicely and go peacefully about their business in a happy little world. And all violence, terrorism and agression would stop. Of course they still might say "USA go home!" but then the USA could say (because the whole refugee camp/Isreali oppression thing was resolved) "all Middle Easterners go home!". And then if that was done, we could have tea and cookies again, pat ourselves on the back for being so clever, and then get attacked because we are next on the list. They define themselves by who they call the enemy, without one, they would be lost, no great cause of jihad to rally the masses to follow them to their glorious death, they would flounder, lose their way, fall apart, and not want any bozos telling them to obey blindly like dogs because there was no threat. Other than the grinding poverty and cruelty they live under, with rulers that live like kings off their national resources, that somehow doesn't seem to get shared with the rest of the nation?

I've got a radical idea: Since Lebanon shares no border with the U.S. (hell, not even a continent), we mind our own business and leave them the hell alone. I know they're bad guys, but it's not a legitimate function of the U.S. government to make the world a better place. That's a child's notion. Read the constitution. The federal govt. is supposed to provide for its citizens a defense against foreign invasion. NOT, monkey in middle-eastern affairs for the sake of oil deals or so that Israel's right to exist may continue unimpeded when it's to the absolute detriment of American citizens.
What should be done about the situation in Lebanon? That's for Lebanese to work out.
