I was wondering, to those who believe they are gay or lesbian...what made you choose to be that way?

What I'm coming from, I guess, is that I think that being gay is a choice. Isn't there one point in your life where you believed that you were different from everyone else?

I apologize if I've offended anyone, but please respect that not everyone is raised with the same ideas about homosexuality. I'm asking out of sheer curiousity, not trying to be rude.

Another debateable question that causes so much controversy. Im bi, and but i chose to be married to a man. Its a choice. It honestly is! The reason its a choice is because i decided what my interests were. I don't understand why people always say they were born that way. A person isnt born a doctor, he chooses to become one right. A person isnt born a killer. Something in life triggers them to become one. Same goes with homosexuallity. Its just my opinion based on my experiences. By the way god didnt create us that way because he doesnt condone homosexuality. A person choses there path of life. What excites them. What catches there attention. Etc etc etc.

Gays and Lesbians didn't choose to be the way they are. Why would they, with all of the social disadvantages? They don't think or believe that they are gay or lesbian they know that they are.
You are born gay or lesbian. The reason most people come out or "find out" that they are gay is because society doesn't accept them. They are gay from the day that they are born, they just don't tell anyone until they are comfortable and ready.
But really think about it. Why would you choose to be gay if everyone is going to hate you? My best friend is gay and when he came out his parents abandoned him and a few jerks threw rocks at us! They even hated me just for being his friend.

It's not a choice. It's just how God made them, like God made you.
Why would a person deliberately choose to be discriminated against, punished, looked down on, damned etc., etc.? I've known many gay people over the years, and they do their best to overcome all the discrimination. But they all pay a price in society for how they were born or came to be because of their upbringing.
Again, everyone's sexual orientation, whether to the opposite or same gender, is God-given, not a choice.

Choice implies control. For most issues regarding sexuality, there isn't either: you can't control who you find attractive and who you don't find attractive.
Whether it is a trait you are born with, a behaviour molded by environment and development, or a mix of both, the fact remains: there was no choice involved or decision made. It simply happened.

well i havent come out or havent actually decided if i am just bi-curious
but anyway i cant chose that i hav feelings for gals..i just know them as friends..after a while when we get close and the feeling just pops into me..sometimes i do tell myself hey this isnt going to work out cos well society isnt like that but the feeling is just the same as any normal person falling in love with the opposite sex.. i just get this feeling that i want to be with her and shower her with love and be there for her.. how can you not chose to have feelings like those? if you do find a way then you can tell me too..
and dont say 'just stop having those feelings' or 'jsut tell yourself its wrong' if those workd then there wouldnt be wives or girlfriends who are stuck in bad r/s (like wife beaters or cheaters etc) cuz you cant just stop feeling for someone
i hope i made some sense with this ramble of mine

Being 'gay', as you put it, is part of you as a person. it is shaped by alot of different factors, some social, some genetic. It is a part of who you are as a person and grows with you. Therefore it is not really a question of being 'gay' or 'straight'. It is more a question of sexuality, a much wide reaching reality!

why did you even bother to ask?
you know fully well that a question like this will inflame people!
you sit back and watch,
adding things to the previous question justifying yourself.
people like you are people who most people
don't need to know or associate with !

Why did you choose to be heterosexual? Does that sound like a silly question to you? Your question sounds just as silly to a gay person.
