I have a file that is 6mb, I zipped it but its size remained minimal...
I need to get it down to 5mb is there anyway i can do this?

May be you are trying to compress a file which is already compressed.
Multimedia files like mp3, wav, mpeg, dat, asf, avi are compressed. You'll not get any significant difference after you compress those files.
You can try winrar. It's compression quality is better then winzip.

question why? do you need to do this
there are several ways to do this download the latest winzip. or look on the web for winrar and zip it with either software package

u can used WinRAR ,then see what happens ?
or
u can split the file .

Yes ....trash 1 mb then you can get it into a 5mb folder...Problem solved
