I'll be forced to wait years to watch it, by then I'd have forgotten what you all said anyway. So just stick to the question please and dont tell me if he manages to get out of that jail, or what the tattoos are all about.
Thanks.

READ ONLY THIS ONE if it isn't too late. I was in you're same position last year and I thought I'd rent disc 1 from the video store to check it out. I knew absolutely nothing about the show and was instantly hooked. I watched the whole season over a couple of days and when I was through I realized that I missed the premiere of season two and how a situation was resolved. so rather than risk ruining it I waited the whole year until season 2 came out and bought it. there's nothing quite like watching a show you enjoy back to back with no commercials or waiting from week to week. Now you have opportunity to do this with 2 seasons.
I have very particular tastes and am hard to please but this show does it for me. I suggest renting the disc 1 and if you are into it I envy you, as you have many solid hours of catch up on.
I avoid all commercials, questions here, websites etc.. on the topic to keep everything unknown.

Lost - I believe, you can either take it or leave it. I think the metaphor of the show is pretty interesting, but as for some of the relationships between the characters, I found it to be perpetual "180's" -- constantly doing what you least expect, and that is not a compliment. As a viewer you invest an hour of your time, to see an interesting pay off, and not "always" something that leaves you guessing. It reminds me of the X-files. But, for a recommendation you might want to check out the first season on DVD, I think they are available to rent.

definitely! here in romania they only showed seasons 1 and 2. yesterday i managed to find the first 6 episodes from season 3 and now it's monday morning, i'm at work, almost sleeping and my eyes are sore from all the watching and all i can think about is how to make time pass more quickly so i can watch the next episode. i think it's like no show you've ever seen before.enjoy it!

ps: even if there'll be plot spoilers around here, it's still worth watching it and not wait years!

Yes. Lost has everything from adventure to suspence, drama to romance. It is amazing to see how the characters change on the island. They begin as a total mess, but find their true selves on the island. It also opens everyones imagination. From Other people to Polar bears. This show is my favorite and I highly recomend it.

Hell yeah!

You'd be crazy about the show when you start watching it.
But you kind of lose the craze when the show pauses and you have to wait for the next season to start.
But yes, it's a pretty great show.

Its pretty good.
The only problem that people have had with it is that its hard to follow at times due to how the show jumps from realtime to flashback and other characters.
Id recommend it though.

and would you actually wait years to watch it?...LOL
