I have a friend that lives in Canada and i was going to send him a card with money but i am not sure if it is save to send money in the mail, plz help. Thanks in advance!

Ps: I live in Chicago, Illinois if you needed to know how far away Canada was from me.

you are not supposed to ever send cash by US mail.

sending a money order would work, but the gift card is the best idea. unfortunately, you can't buy them from the website, but you can go to your local bank, and ask them if they sell the gift cards, and if they are good in canada.

if they don't seem to know, all you need to do is look for the words "useable only in the united states" - if it doesn't say that, then you're good to go

you could always send a check or a money order made out in your friends name, and that would be safer in the fact that it would be harder for a theif to steal it. What about one of those Visa gift cards? I'm not sure what the activation procedures are, but it can be used almost anywhere. that may be more secure as well.

Send it thru Western Union, if possible, or write a check.
