colitas

In Spanish, the word does have meaning. It translates as “little tails”, and refers to the tips of marijuana leaves, said to be the most potent part of the plant.

Let's try it. Does the word "lie" affect the truth of a statement? I don't think it affects the truth itself. It does, however, effect the perception of truth. If you tell the truth and someone calls you it a lie. You are forced into a position of defending the truth you told just because of the perception that the word "lie" has caused. If you take that further, most people, when confronted by a smell test - a daisy and a rose. Would pick the rose because of their perception even if the daisy smelled exactly the same. So ... the adage, "truth is in the eye of the beholder." is probably a better answer to your question.

"warm smell of colitas"..... colitas means "little bud".

Check out this page, it's very interesting, has some good interpretations on the song and how the word "colitas" was meant to be used in it.
