The saying is that your ears are burning when someone is talking about you.

The reason the ear can 'ring' is due to damage caused to the tiny hairs (cilia) in the inner ear. With minor damage, the cilia are eventually repaired and the ear stops ringing. With major damage, or repeated damage, the ringing lasts (tinnitus)

Its called tinnitus and has a few causes. Examples: A jolt to the head. Exposure to noise that damaged the ear drum. Whatever the cause determines the solution. Good Luck. I have it and it will keep me awake unless I drown the sound out with 'white noise' such as a fan.

I am guessing it is a nerve that is sent from a place inside of your head. Just like when you twitch for no reason at all. It is a nerve acting funny.

Just a hypothesis. Srry I couldn't get the real fact to you. :(

i believe the cliche is when your ear is "burning" someone is talking about you. the ringing could be from many things, but if you are concerned, i would suggest seeking advice from a healthcare professional.
