I think Sandy hit the nail on the head. I started my own mobile repair business in January of this year after working in performance shops, including an extremely large Mercedes Benz dealer and could not continue working for people that are unethical. If you do what Sandy mentioned, you will be successful. Many shops have made it very easy for the honest guys because people simply don't trust mechanics/ technicians & for good reason many times. When they can trust you, they will never leave you. I have lost time on many jobs, but I stuck to the price and gained the trust and all of my customers friend's and family business. I can tell you from recent experience that when you get one good customer, treat them like family & repair their cars to the best of your ability, you usually gain alot of business at one time.
To add to the above, be passionate about your craft and constantly educate yourself and stay current. There are online web based seminars, workshops, etc from anything on propperly using a scantool or labscope to replacing timing chains. I doubt there is a room in my house that doesn't have a technical magazine or book that I'm constantly reading. Your best bet is to attend a good tech school. I graduated from 2 of them including the Mercedes Benz ELITE program and it was the best experience I ever had. It's the perfect place to build a solid foundation for understanding how all systems and areas of a vehicle works. Also the perfect environment to learn without speed or cost consequences . You don't have to know everything, but If you love it and are an honest person, you will make money and be successful.

Be good at what you do, if you make a mistake, eat it and finish the job correctly.
When in doubt, ask for help.
Allways do the work as if it is your car. Every car that comes in a garage is to be treated as if I bought it and am now the owner, I will give it back after I am happy with the work.
If the car is not repaired to the highest standards of quality, never release it and claim it is.
If it is going to take longer than what you told the customer, well it is. If you told the Customer 45minutes and the job takes you 5 hours, charge for 45minutes.
Allways listen to what the Customer wants, then work within thier budget and agree on a solution.
The Customer is allways right, untill they are wrong, but even then they are still right cause its the customers car. If customer wants bicycle tires, well dont do that, but you can add/weld bicyle tires onto the Rims. Its not advised, but it can be done and the customer is right, again.
After a year or two of doing what people ask of you in the way they want it done,and to the best of your abilities, word of mouth will have your shop so full of clients that you will be looking for a second shop.
That is how it is done.

Take Sandy's advice. Be prepared to fight for the customer when the boss/owner asks "what the hell are you doing? Do you know how much this place costs?" If you can stand by your morals, you can open your own shop with all the trusted customers that trust you.

based on the keep and the place its placed, a keep supervisor or foreman could make that lots and greater, some important mechanics make that, a factors branch supervisor could make that, an vehicle engineer will make properly over that, an vehicle CEO will make lots greater suitable than that. and actually that's hit or omit consistent with what enterprise you artwork for, or what section you're in.
