Would he know that is coming from you?
Is he the kind of guys that have a good send of humor?.
I got my boss an underwear that spells out "High Maintenance" on the butt area last year and she luvs it. She said her husband will sure get a kick out of it.
Other suggestion will be like Pen, Funny Mug, Tie (Men), Brooch (Ladies), Christmas Candles, Organizer, Cheque holder, A nice plant.
Hope the above helps.

Depends what he's into. Golf balls if he's a golfer, a cheap radio controlled car if he's a kid at heart, a picture frame if he has a family and photos at work. Go the kiss ass route and get him a world's best boss trophy. If he's a foodie perhaps a nice olive oil or something slightly exotic. A poster of his fave sports team. Love dice if he's married. A humorous small book.

$10.00 doesn't buy much these days, and it would usually be something of little value.
Think on this person and determine whether he was all that great to you during the year.
If this person comes up as somebody really special, then spring for anything that this person could use, like fine wine, or nice cologne, and if it costs more, well, it may be worth it.
Then again, beware of peer pressure (thinking you are hoping for soemthing in return).
Thread carefully.

What are his hobbys and interests? If he likes fishing, give him something fishing oriented. If he likes games, give him a game. See what I mean?
