none of those are the best, but out of those? u2. they've made at least 2 or 3 of the greatest rock songs ever. followed by foo fighters who have some good songs and terrible coldplay.

Out of the three choices, definitely U2. In the world, throughout history, there are probably some better bands, like the Beatles, to name one (U2 would probably even agree with that).

The funniest little fact I have in my pocket is that a somewhat unexpected band has held that title for years and years on end: The Red Hot Chili Peppers. Most people are just into them, and I have to agree that they are quite versatile.
Anywhoooo, my personal opinion would be more along the lines of Rammstein, Tool, or A Perfect Circle. Nirvana has always been a popular contender (world-wide).

Currently in mainstream music my two favorite bands are the Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Foo Fighters.
U2 truely is not that great. Their stuff all sounds the same, has no back bone to it, and it feels dry and boring.

Coldplay, og cource! Their music is a level beyond everyone else. The topics of the songs are great.
I LIKE those unimaginable tones and sophisticated lyrics. They are the best! I can't say which is my favourite song but I'll tell you the best ones:

The song is marvellous! It's about the progress in the life, the others in your life... I don't know what to say...

Did you see the video clip. Well you should, cause it's the best ever.

2. U2
3.... Foo fighter cannot be in the list. Nirvana is great but not Foo fighter.

Ok now everyone is going to hate me....but ...you asked "Who is the best band in the world" named 3 groups and that was your question....Sorry it should of been who do you like of these 3...Because in 20 years from now maybe U2 will still be known but....the best band in the world is and will always be.......THE ROLLING STONES....NOW WHO CAN ARGUE THAT
