It depends on the conversation......

If we perceive them as bad, they are bad.... If only some, then it is only those who think so.....

Yet... If a discussion is construed as "hot", it means some are interested in the topic....... Lest it is meant only to "stirr" some to anger...... Then it is nothing more than a mass of replies to keep the debate open......

Good --- as long as they do not become personal or turn into shouting matches. It is important to define your beliefs, listen to other ideas, and make yourself heard when you feel you need to be. Even a little yelling and hot tempers can help sometimes. When it degenerates into name-calling and gets off the topic though, then that's bad. VERY bad.

i think they are good to have it lets you know how the other person or party feels about a certain subject
