Well it was a rule made some time ago it was as follows.
Super Sub:-You first pick a total 11 player team but in mid of the match if u feel that u want to replace someone u may choose one of your playing men to move out of the Field and u can ask a man (who was decided to be the Super Sub before the match started) to come in.......
The Super Sub can bat as well as bowl. the super sub can come into play at any time.
But this rule has been removed from International ODI's from quite a good time.

Its past. ICC tried it for a while in ODI and its no more in use.
Suoer sub was used in ODI
The teams used to name 12 players and each team could replace the 12th player with one of the 11 players.
Rules:
1. If it is a bowler and is changed when his team is fielding and he has bowled 5 overs, the super sub can not bowl more than 5 overs.

Super sub was a rule introduced by ICC in One Day Internationals in July 2005. As per this rule, any player was allowed to be substituted for the twelfth man, with the substitute able to take over the substituted players batting and bowling duties. A twelfth man used as a substitute in this way is known as the supersub.
The ICC cancelled the experiment in February 2006.
