Can anyone help me solve this?
I need to solve this but I cant seem to figure it out.
Here is the actual text from the problem

"A continuous function is a function whose graph has no breaks in it.

One nice things about continuous functions is they have the intermediate value property: if (a 1,b 1) is on the graph and (a 2, b 2) is on the graph, then for every y-value b 3 between b 1 and b 2 there is an x value a 3 between a 1 and a 2 such that f(a 3) = b 3.

Anyway, let f be a continuous function with the following amazing property:

f(x) * f(f(x))=1

The astrik is a multiplication symbol.

(a) Find f(793)

(b) Justify your answer. "

Anyone got a clue?
f(x) * f(f(x))=1

The astrik is a multiplication symbol.

f(x) cannot equal 0, otherwise, the property stated would be invalid, so you can divide both sides by f(x)

Therefore f(f(x)) = 1/f(x) replace f(x) with y:

f(y) = 1/y, therefore f(x) = 1/x, and f(f(x) = 1/f(x)

The only ways I can make sense of this are to assume f(x)=1/x, or f(x)=1. 1/x isn't continuous, so I feel justified in stating f(x)=1.
