Can someone PLEASE tell me why my hamster's eye's BURST!and there are blood!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My hamster's eye burst suddenly when my brother saw it he told me.............................................CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHY MY HAMSTER"S EYE BURST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My hamster cage do have another hamster but it is my hamster that bullies the another hamster.............

Is he the only hamster in the cage? If it isn't rubbing it's eyes, it most likely isn't experiencing any physical irritation/pain, but you should see a vet as soon as possible. The stress on the eye can result in blindness and/or death.Avoid treating the eyes with OTC medications as some medicines may further irritate the area and are not intended for use on animals.The vet may recommend some antibiotics or saline drops depending on his disposition.

Is there another hamster in the cage? If so, I suspect a fight. Separate them.

Solo hamster? I suspect severe scratching or abuse by a human or animal capable of getting to the hamster. If it's scratching, figure out what's irritating him and clean it up. If it's an animal such as a cat, make the cage inaccessable. If it's a human, then it's time for some attitude adjustment.

Put Neo-sporin ointment on the eye several times daily for the next few days to prevent infection.

Optimus Prime?!?! Very cute. I like that one. Oh, and don't let your brother go near your hamster ever, EVER again. Rodents do worse to each other and survive. Just kepp it coated with neosporin or triple anti bacterial ointment, lock the cage with a combo lock, and never tell your bro the combination. If the critter dies, then it's probably fatal.

I'm sorry to here that. That is very sad. If its in a lot of pain, I would put it out of its misery. I don't think vets do anything for hamsters and if they do, it would be mega bucks.

It could be anything from an injury to a tumor, only a proper vet check will tell you for sure. Please go to a vet asap or no matter what's wrong, you could be looking at a secondary infection.

my cats eye burst and it was because there was a cancerous tumor behind her eye, it pushed her eye out, literally.
she had surgery and the cancer came back and she had to be put down.

i dont know but. it sounds like a big thing if the eyes willy busted take it to the vet and see if he is ok. but dont be sad if they tell u they have to put him down wich means put him to sleep
