there is no war between the us and iraq..we won. the military has done an excellent job. they always do, on the whole.

civil unrest on the other hand and guerilla activities. that would depend on winning the hearts and minds of those that have been occupied. i dont think that is really a goal of the us govt. they should let the brits organize the peace, they have a better history of doing that.

vietnam fought for their indepence for 30 years after ww2, so i will say 30 years. 2033.

Technically the Iraq War is over. We toppled Saddam and his regime.

The war on terror that is taking place there... well that all depends. I can't fore-see future presidents. It could be stopped in 2008 or 9... or in 2020. In my opinion it won't be for a decade or two.

The Iraq war was over 3 years ago. When we defeated the Iraqi army.

We are now in an occupation and reconstruction that is going so poorly, that it resembles a war.

Please get your terms factually straight!

it will be over in 2013. After US elections and at that time China will refuse to increase value of its currency. And Iran will be able to control Iraq by her own power, in other words she will NOT NEED USA to help her to get rid of enemies. And at that time ETHNOL fuel will be affordable and it will reduce importance of Iraq and her oil.

The actual "war" - constant daily combat - will probably be another five years. After that, an American presence will probably be indefinite.

I'm with Tweet. But I think we'll keep a presence in the ME indefinitely. And we need to.
