It is 10:45 where I live right now and early I'm sure I was having contraction not big ones but I had troubling standing up and sitting down. and the pain would last 30 seconds or so with each one. But this was a few hours ago and nothing much since then could have those been contractions or was it something different. I was due on December 5th. I'm hoping this is it, with my daughter I didn't feel my contractions till I was in full tilt labor.

It is hard to say, but if nothing else happened it was not the kind of labor that gets a baby out. All contractions are useful, but not all make changes in your cervix. You can have "entering pains" when the baby needs to adjust position. You can help this out by leaning forward, even get on your hands and knees, or climb stairs or do side lunges to open your hips. Squatting helps too. Contractions of any sort stimulate the baby's central nervous system and get it ready for breathing air. The uterus is a muscle and it just excercises all by itself. You might have had gas, which is worse than contractions, or you might have abdominal pain due to a bladder infection. In any case, drink plenty of water and get some rest if you can, you will need it later.

You will know when you are in true labour if;
Contractions are regular: 15 – 20 minutes apart and last 30 seconds.
Contractions are getting closer together.
Contractions are getting stronger.
Contractions are getting longer.
Contractions are being felt in the lower back or belly.
Walking does not seem to be helping your contractions.

Most physicians suggest contacting them when your contractions are five minutes apart and lasting 60 seconds, and you have had this activity for about an hour

My water broke at 4:45 am (although I wasn't sure that's what it was at the time), and I had two contractions (thought maybe they were braxton-hicks - ha!) that I felt between that time and 6 pm when they started regularly, so there could be LOTS of time in between! This may sound like no fun, but you can help the baby move by crawling around on your hands and knees...my midwives suggested cleaning my kitchen floor by hand! :o) Rocking on a birth ball (aka yoga/pilates/exercise ball) can also be soothing and help the baby get into position and move down through the birth canal.
Good luck!

My contractions all started ever 10-15 minutes aside at a million:30am. At 3:30 they have been each 7-10 minutes aside. with the help of seven:00am they have been each 5-7 minutes aside. Thats once I went to the wellness facility.

Considering your last pregnancy and the fact that you are overdue, I'd suggest you get checked out. If you can't sit the baby may have dropped. I've had two babies caught by nurses because they came too quickly. Trust me, listen to your body unless you're ready to deliver at home!
