Component Video Cables for the Wii?

Can you use component video cables with the Nintendo Wii? Would the quality be better than using the a/v cables? How would you connect the component cables into your t.v. from the wii? Any other info about component cables for the wii would be very helpful....thanks in advance!

The component video cables are available at various websites, but third-party cables I have seen have usually been more expensive. Nintendo's online store has them available for a decent price.

The quality would be better than standard composite cables. It provides a more crisp image and brighter colors, since instead of the video signal going through 1 cable, it is separated into three different ones (for red, green, and blue colors). This, however, can also point out some flaws in video games. Apparently on some Wii games, it shows the characters being more blocky, since they are no longer blurred around the edges.

You can only use them on TVs with component inputs, such as EDTVs or HDTVs. The Wii only supports up to 480p, so if you want a TV just for the Wii, an EDTV would work just fine.

Well the HDTV cables work on Wii, it will bring the Wii's graphic to a 480p compare to it's highest a 480i...
