If you're talking about a piano in the traditional sense, then 88 keys are standard. Electronic keyboard range anywhere from 32 keys to 88 keys.

But since you said piano, standard is 88. Now if you own a Bosendorfer piano, that's a different story. Bösendorfer pioneered the extension of the typical 88-key keyboard, creating the Imperial Grand (Model 290), which has 97 keys, and later the Model 225, which has 92.

Yes, it will be the same even on a 76 key piano. A will still be between the top 2 black keys of the group of 3. D will always be between the two black keys in the group of 2.

on a regulation piano there are 88 keys. electric keyboards can have 88 or less depending on the size of the unit and what it will be used for. my keyboard has 61 keys, this is a common size because it basically gives you a full spectrum of sound in a more compact, convinient size. it does not contain the lowest octave or the highest octave found on a regulation size piano--but these octaves are seldom used except for some classical music.

it depends on the piano, or the keyboard, you can buy a keyboard to sound and play just like a piano, or buy one that can do all a paino can do and more...the number of keys depends, go to Musiciansfriend.com and check them out.
