I went upstairs in the middle of the football game to grab a pantiliner. I figured, no big deal, probably just leaking a little bit because the baby is putting more pressure on my bladder. I am 35 weeks today according to ultrasound. When I went upstairs, I had a steady stream of clear liquid. I wiped, changed underwear, went to lay down in bed. I was shocked when I had another significant amount of fluid come out. I stood up and had this large gush of clear liquid. It continued to stream for about 10 minutes and I still have a little bit of fluid coming out. I have not been having contractions, but since the fluid came out, the baby has become significantly lower. Do you think that my water has broke even though I have no pain? What do I do if it has? This is my first and I am at a loss right now. Please help. Thank you.

I would definitely say your water broke. Mine broke at 4:45 in the morning and I didn't have contractions until 6 at night....don't panic, just keep doing your thing, but be sure to stay clean and don't let anything get "internal," or take a bath (shower is okay). My midwives had me cleanse with a cleanser called "hibicleanse" which helps keep bacteria away from the baby if there will be a prolonged time between delivery and the water breaking. The amniotic fluid is what helps cushion baby and keep bacteria away, so that is why hospitals want you to have the baby within 24 hours after the water breaks...however, that time, 24 hours, is actually very short compared to how long the baby can ACTUALLY safely stay after the water breaks....I can clarify if you need, but I'm trying to type fast so I can get this answer to you!

once you're in water, taking a tub or tub you will possibly not comprehend good while your water breaks. yet once you get out you will. that's going to proceed to leak and spill out til the toddler comes. you may bleed in uncomplicated terms a splash too, and could experience contractions drawing close. i would not undertaking approximately it. you will comprehend regardless of if it happens interior the bathe you would be waiting to tell after. i would not pass swimming. it could reason an infection in case you're dialating. docs many times dont propose that. additionally, once you get your membranes stripped do a superb variety of walking. Stripping membranes dont continually paintings. they could could desire to do it lower back at a destiny appt. Sweetie, get thee to the hospital. It's HIGHLY likely that your water has broken. It is not unusual to not have any pain following rupture of membranes. You need to get to the hospital so the baby can be monitored and labor will usually be started if it doesn't start on it's own within 24 hours. It may be a good idea to ride in the back, or even the front, of the vehicle lying down in case the cord is getting compressed since there is no amniotic fluid to cushion. Until the doc does an exam to rule this out. Relax. Don't panic. and... CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!

YOUR WATER HAS BROKEN... DO NOT PANIC, CALL YOUR DOCTOR AND LET THE HOSPITAL KNOW YOU ARE ON YOUR WAY.
if you feel no pain, thata a good sign, it should take a little while for contractions to start.
you may be delivering a baby in the next few hours... or you may not.
dod you know that doctors can help (sometimes) when your water breaks by giving you steroids and ventolin?
Did you also know that if your water breaks but the baby is not ready to come out, your water will replace itself in 4 hours.
Please get to the hospital.... and good luck

You're in labor - you will have the baby in the next 24 hours! Don't go to the hospital until you can feel intense pain - it may not come for another few hours - labor can take 12 hours the first time, but the hospital will not allow you to labor for more than 24 hours past the rupture.

Good luck, mom!

Yes, your water did break. If you are not having contractions by now, they will come on soon. So, I would go to the hospital right away. The fact that you are only 35 weeks could be unsafe for the baby and may have need to come out soon.

It sure sounds like it has :) Congratulations. Most women can expect to start having contractions within 24 hours of their water breaking, so it's totally normal that you don't have any yet.

You should call your doctor now, and in the mean time, don't take a bath, and keep a sterile pad on.

It does seem that your water has broke. Call your doctor right away and see what he wants you to do. Once your water breaks you have around 24 to deliver or there is a chance of an infection. Congrats

Your water broke. Call the Birthing Center and tell them you are on your way. You have 24 hours to deliver, or they will have to perform a c section. So, the faster that you get going the less chance you have of having surgery.
