Why they are making new strategies now by making java a open source though there is no profit out of it? They charge only for the training material bought from their site. But how far this will be useful for them? From where they get their revenues?

IMHO making Java open source allows them to reduce investments and not loose money on Java anymore.

Sun permit you to use java as a private person if you use java and make application and then charge people for it then Sun will jump on your back like a tone of bricks. if you write a application in java you have then to send Sun a copy so that they can test it to see if it works as it should, and if it can be improved, they will then put it on their website for others to download and work on, that is why Linux is becoming very popular everything is free
Sun make ther money through businesses they charge a license fee for using sun programs
