Christianity's view of redemption is that despite all of the bad things someone has done in the past, they can still redeem themselves with a change in their heart. It's not too late for anyone. No one is beyond saving. If they truly repent for their past actions, and turn to Christ, they can still find redemption. It's not that Scrooge just bought gifts for the kids, and his redemption doesn't come from the actions that he did because anyone can just go through the motions in acting out the right thing to do, but it was a true change in his heart.

Christians call this a "true saving faith" that is discussed in the book of James. In this letter, James describes many bad examples such as seeing a poor person without food and wishing him well but not really doing anything to help him. James wrote that this does not honor God and doesn't really demonstrate a truly changed heart for God. However, the change in heart comes first, and from that comes good actions. It's not the good deeds that bring us redeption and get us to heaven, but it is the changed heart that provides our means of salvation. The outward manifestation of this changed heart is the desire to help others as Scrooge did with everyone around him.

Christianity's view of redemption is to repent (Be sorry for what you have done wrong) and do better....As Scrooge did, he was sorry for his past and changed to do better

it's the deliverance of mankind such fundamentally negative or disabling conditions as suffering, evil, finitude and death. in some religious beliefs it also entails restoration or raising up of the natural world to a higher realm or state.
