I told my family I was heterosexual, just to see how they would react. They were Ok with it, so I told my friends and girlfriend.

There was this guy in home-economics class that took it kinda hard though.

I'm not gay, but I was the first person that y best friend told. I was even there when he came out to his mom and dad. I was sooo nervous about how they would take it!

I usually don't flaunt it... if someone asks... I always answer honestly.

To put it simply... they either know already... or they haven't a clue.

My family was never at the top of the list on things like this as they were *way* too judgemental and I didn't need more anxiety.

My best friend, then my g/f then my mom and my sister said she knew for years before that. I came out at 15

My best friends are gay, and I watched them go through hell with their peers and family. My neice is a lesbian. I always knew since she was 11, but I wanted her to be the one to tell me... so, one day I picked her up to go out and her girlfriend came along. That was fine with me.

Like the previous answer its true, either they know or dont. Its obvious cuz I never brought a girlfriend home. Only my brothers, friends know; not my parents.
