actually you've already got it right. as long as you don't think it's pain, then it's not. "hurt" "cold" "hot"; they're all states of the mind. just relax and tell yourself you're fine- and guess what! i do it all the time when i'm cold outside and it stops it. i sliced my thumb open a few weeks ago (on accident) and it didnt hurt til i started thinking it should, and when i forgot about it the pain went away.

It depends on what you mean by overcome pain. If a person is constantly in pain or deals with pain frequently then they can become so accustomed that they can perform their usual tasks while in pain someone else would consider unimaginable. Anyone can train their mind to help pain. There's a form called biofeedback that is taught to many chronic pain sufferers. Of course you'd have to practice whatever technique you employ...personally mine is a little more abstract than the biofeedback I tried to learn earlier in my life but it works for me. There's also the fact that your will to survive can overcome pretty much any amount of pain. You'd be surprised what the human brain and spirit can achieve if it has to.

if your talking physical, I believ so. Of course it isn't nothing a normal average joe will be able todo, more like a 10th degree black belt, as at that time it IS a mental thing. I'm also sure you've seen those big guys break like 3 10 cement stacks with 2 hands and a forehead (differ stacks each), or break down like 12 walls of ice with his shoulder? Something like that, but if your talking 10th degree blackbelt they prob put their hand in fire and not feel it hehe.

Depends on the type of pain. For physical, if you try hard enough, mind over matter sometimes helps you keep your mind off of pain.
For mental, the best way is to talk about it with others.

The answer is "absolutely"! I've leaned to do it (in many...not all....cases), and my mind is about as average as they come! It's mostly a matter of "ignoring" it, for lack of a better word. Sort of like just deciding that it doesn't hurt.

It takes concentration, and only those who are extremely proficient in concentration, can block out pain. Anyone can do this feat, but few devote the time to do so.

Pain is a reminder the body is out of sorts with itself. Healing is the best form of pain relief.
