bcoz if two nos are equal,then their squares should also be equal..

well actually -2 would not square to -4, it can only square to positive 4. Because it's times itself!! A negative times a negative is allways positive.

y = x² --- Plug in your x values and see what you come up with..

x = 0, y = 0
x = 1, y = 1
x = (-1), y = 1
x = 2, y = 4
x = -2, y = 4

As you can see, for the equation y = x², the y value can't be negative (and is the square of x).

both (3,9) and (-3,9)
because 3^2 = 9
and
-3^2 = 9
