It's a pretty tough choice. I'd go with Gears for the phenomenal online play. But you might want to rent both first and see which one you like.

I would say Gears of War over Tom Clancys Rainbow Six: Vegas, cause it's a better game and it's so fun to use the chainsaw on your enemies when you play online! Though Rainbow Six Vegas is not bad so i would suggest if you can buy both to do it!

Gears of War, no contest. Gears has great innovative game play, beautiful graphics, tough AI. Though what game to get would depend on what you like. In my true opinion Oblivion would be a GREAT choice for a first too because that will last you a couple weeks and its a very fun game.

I have them both and I find them both very entertaining. Gears of War for it's look and feel, and Vegas for it's in depth use of strategy, and online play. I would personally go for Vegas, only because it is longer (Gears of War was pretty short), and I prefer the use of more extensive Co-op play.

Gears of war is alot better. Not only is it an awesome game, it also is great online and allows co-op which is alot of fun.

depends on if u like team work and tactic combat for the glory of USA or.. sci-fi thriller/bloody and gore/horror/extreme fiction/killing spree game. 1st suggestion is R6V and 2nd is GOW(DUH!)
although i suggest gears of war cus there are better squad commanding, terrorist shooting games out there such as ghost recon advanded warfighter

in case you mean 2 participant as in 2 participant split reveal screen, then unreal tournament or call of responsibility 3 may be precise for you. in case you mean 2 participant as in 2 participant co-op, then i visit't quite call that many precise off the bat...

I have both. R6 is way more fun and has more replay value. Trust me.
