There is some stuff at Wal-Mart called 'V' it is the best. It comes in a box with like six blocks, just put one behind your stove, one in your cabinets, etc. They eat that stuff then go and and die. It is very inexpensive and works great. We use it every year. Good Luck

Poison has limited effectiveness and is dangerous to other animals, not only pets that eat the poison, but predators that eat the mice! I don't advise it.
Can you get a cat? Even if the cat is not a good hunter, it will chase any mouse it sees or hears, day or night. If you have a cat in the house, it will keep the mice out, and it will do it quietly. A dog won't do that. Get an adult cat if you don't want the antics of a kitten.

poison is always dangerous for your dog, and i completely understand why you might not want to use poison. your best bet would be to, if u can afford it, call a professional exterminator, or if you are like most people who do it themselves, you can use your standard mouse poison. just make sure it is in an enclosure that your dogs cannot get into, for example make a small 1 by 1 by 1 foot box and cut small mouse holes into it, put it by all moist entrances to the house (out of the way and out of sight) or areas where you collectively find the most rat/mouse poop inside the house or outside the house. if this fails, then your going to have to cough up some extra dough for an exterminator. when choosing an exterminator make sure that you have a guarantee from them that they fix your problem and that they will return and fix it again if problems arise within a certain time. once your in house mouse problems are fixed, then you should attempt to keep it that way by making sure that your home is firmly enclosed, and that you DONT put any rat/mouse poison in or near your house when there is no problem with the rodents because you dont want to unnecessarily attract them to your home.

I quit using poison because most poisons that the mice consume tends to cause them to bleed internally and if my animals were to consume a dead mouse I am not sure how much of that poison is transfered to my pet.
A friend gave me a trick to the mouse traps that the mice seem to feed off of but don't get caught.
A tiny piece of gauze or cotton ball in that little piece of metal that hangs off the bottom of the bait area will help.
Wedge that tiny piece of gauze or piece of a cotton ball in that metal and then paste it down with peanut butter and get ready! ! !
In the last week I have caught atleast 8 mice and I know there are more as some of them are small enough to rob the trap and not set it off.
The gauze/cotton will get caught in the mouse's teeth and when they are through eating the peanut butter and start to pull away, they are caught.

Good Luck

the first thing you need to do is to figure out where the most evidence of your mice is located, or if it is mice that you are in fact dealing with, next you need to re bait your traps. and place them in places like behind your washer and dryer, behind your stove , fridge, and around your furnace. when you bait your traps, try apple and get it in the groves of the trap so the little critters have to work for it, peanut butter just goes to liquid and runs off.
if you need to try something else try a small piece of dog kibble, and may i recommend a tote box to store the dog food in, so they won't find and chew the bottom of the bag. had that happen b4 had 40 lbs of food to clean up. not fun.
good luck hope that helps.

Don't use poison, if your dogs get a hold of a mouse that has been poisoned, it will kill your dog. Call an exterminator if they get into the house.
