Pooja Room is a Spiritual Room where you do meditation and spiritual worship to God.
Most of Indian houses are constructed according to few rules, we call as Vastu Shastras.
Vaasthu Sastra explains the positioning of amenities of a civil construction including a village or a town or a city or a house or a garden etc. will influence the future of the inhabitants or the owner accordingly. Adequate information and guidance is provided as a treasure in our Vedas to help mankind.
The total Vaasthu Sastra depends on Eight Directions. The lords of those eight directions are called as Asta-Dik-Palakas. They dictate the health, wealth, prosperity, etc. of the inhabitants and the owners. This service speaks about general Vaasthu for various purposes. With our veteran Vaasthu Pandits our users can be benefited from time to time. Doshas are predicted and Nivaranas are suggested or organised as per the Sastra.
Vastu for Pooja Room:
This room should be designed carefully because when you do meditation, you should gain the positive energies and then you can feel charged. If it is in wrong direction, then no matter how much meditation you do, you will not feel charged.
We have to take care of the following points while studying about the vastu of the pooja room
Proper location of the pooja room in the house
The direction of the Entrance
The direction & placement of the windows
The direction & placement of the God place
The direction & placement of the almirah containing pooja stuff
The colour scheme of the room
Worship should be done in the north east, north, or east sides of the house. It is best that the temple room is in the northeast corner of the house.
The worship room should not be to the south.
The place of worship should be on the ground floor and not upstairs.
The altar should be located on the northeast side of the temple room.
The deities or pictures of the deities should either face east or west, and should not face north or south. It is best that the Deities face west and the worshipers face east.
The altar should not be set into the wall but should be at least 2.5 cm (an inch) from it.
The door to the temple room should have two shutters.
Toilets should never be above or below the place of worship.
White, light yellow, or light blue are good colors for a temple room. It is good if the worship room is shaped like a pyramid, sloping inward as it goes upward toward the roof in the four directions.

Pooja means adoration. Pooja Room in a Hindu household is a separate room for offering prayers of adoration to many deities of Hindu pantheon. It is just like a personal altar to perform religious observances. These can be of elaborate rituals to simple prayers or meditation depending on the personal preference of the devotee. Generally each family follow their traditional way of worship or Pooja.

Yes Geeta you should not use two photos even of Shiva and shiva. Now listen(everyone here are talking non sense sorry to say that) We keep photos because we concentrate on the divine attributes of any devi/devta. Keeping two photos diverts your concentration during puja/saadhna. Its the same way as how arjuna responded to dronacharya during practicing of bow that he could see only the eye of bird and nothing else. As two suns cant be there in solar system same is true for sadhna. I see many people worship multiple god SAME TIME FOR DIFFERENT NEEDS(MURAADEN). WHICH IS ONLY DISTRACTION NOT sadhna. but if you are comfortable you can continue too.
