My political views are based on facts and track records.
It seems to me that republicans believe in giving economic assistance to those who need it least, while democrats believe focusing a lot of attention on social issues that don't seems to help too many people.
Neither party seems to pay attention to average Americans.
I am a registered independent.

A lot. My religious beliefs are why I take a neutral stand when it comes to political issues, so therefore I wouldn't vote for one or the other. I leave that up to the people who think their country can really save them in the end, not to sound arrogant.

Speaking of which...I noticed a few of your answers in other questions, and also going along with what you say here. So are the rest of us dumb because we don't have the same mind set as you? Just something you should think about before you go shooting off about the rest of the people having 'mindless "nothing" answers'...that does not say a lot for you...I assume you must be a youngin'... it's alright, we all say a lot of dumb things from time to time and are imperfect, including you. Have a nice day :)

My political views are grounded in the ideals of freedom. I think that everyone should be able to do whatever they want as long as they don't harm others by physical or financials needs or impede on other's rights to do what they want. I'm a Libertarian. I try really hard to be open minded, but some times I feel that I'm not.

I guess to change my mind, you'd have to convince me that freedom isn't a good thing. Since all of my views are pretty much based on this one ideal, changing that would change them all.

Real concrete answers to problems in health care. A program that would insure health care for all americians. You bring me solutions and end the suffering and i will back what every party brings it forward. I swear if the GOP brought up viable answers to the health care crisis that would make me change parties

I know this will sound crazy, but I honestly would rather be dead than be a Liberal Democrat.
Strange thing is, I started out a Liberal and changed as I got older.
But conservatives didn't win me over. --The Libs. just became disgusting to me.
Now their whining just makes me sick, and I feel guilty for the hatred I feel.
Please don't tell me I'm closing my mind, I already know that. But, I tried seeing things their way, and it just seems so immature to me.
I honestly believe they are destroying this beautiful country.

It depends on the context, really, but a good, persuasive argument about one thing or another often causes a change in my view of politics.

Since my political views are not based on people, and my worldview of people is that they are fallible, I doubt anything could change my mind.

I believe this is the greatest nation on Earth, and I think that people who mess with the US have bought themselves a death sentence.
